I will not be with you on Thursday unfortunately. But, we'll make the most of it; you will use this time to all arrive at the same level of knowledge as a class, because on Monday, you will complete a short quiz based on the following questions and concepts:

- Was the Long March a triumph or a defeat?

On Monday we will do the quiz (30 minutes max.). After that we will look further at the long term causes of the Chinese Civil War (1927 - 1949). Rest of the week will be other causes of the Chinese Civil War and we'll look at the ideological beliefs of the GMD and the CCP.
